DXB’s northern runway is set to close for temporary maintenance this weekend. The brief closure of the northern runway comes amidst a 45-day closure of DXB’s southern runway, which is undergoing extensive maintenance.
The northern runway closures will take place from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, May 24, from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, May 26, and from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, May 27, a statement said. Passengers travelling this weekend are urged to check their flight times before making their way to the airport, and to check with their respective airlines for any updates.
According to Dubai Airports, the brief closure of the northern runway is for ““necessary maintenance and upgrades as part of the ongoing runway rehabilitation programme”.
“The closures have been carefully planned during the least busy period of the day and in close coordination with airlines and other service partners involved in airport operations, to minimise flight disruptions and keep passenger inconvenience to a minimum,” the statement read.
