Dubai Airport has rolled out more than 520 hearing loops across all three terminals of Dubai International Airport (DXB), significantly improving accessibility for travellers with hearing loss. The systems have been strategically placed at key customer touchpoints including check-in counters, immigration desks, boarding gates, and information counters.
The technology allows passengers to connect instantly by switching their hearing device to the telecoil (‘T’) setting — no pairing or additional equipment required. To ensure seamless assistance, frontline employees have also received special training to support guests of determination.
This initiative is in line with Dubai’s Universal Design Code, which promotes inclusive access to public spaces and transport infrastructure. It follows other efforts at DXB, such as the dedicated “stress relief area” introduced in Terminal 2 for passengers with autism, visual impairments, or other accessibility needs.
With these measures, Dubai Airport continues reinforcing its reputation as the world’s busiest hub for international travellers — welcoming 92.3 million guests in 2024 alone — while ensuring a more inclusive travel experience for all.
