Dubai International Airport (DXB) has issued a travel advisory ahead of an expected surge in passenger traffic between February 20 and 28. The airport anticipates welcoming over 2.5 million travelers during this period, with daily averages of 280,000 and a peak of more than 295,000 on Saturday, February 22.
The increase in traffic is attributed to global events and school holidays in key markets. Passengers are advised to use the Dubai Metro for convenient access to and from the airport, as well as between Terminals 1 and 3. Additionally, those arriving at Terminal 1 should note that the Arrivals bus stop will be out of service from February 21, with alternative transport options available via the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) website.
DXB, the world’s busiest airport for international traffic, handled a record-breaking 92.3 million passengers in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. December 2024 was the busiest month, with 8.2 million passengers recorded. Dubai Airports, the operator of DXB and Dubai World Central (DWC), attributes the sustained growth to Dubai’s status as a global hub for travel, business, and investment.
