Dubai Airports has unveiled the next phase of its accessibility strategy — a renewed 10-year plan to transform Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) into the world’s most accessible and inclusive airports by 2035.
The initiative strengthens Dubai Airports’ commitment to inclusivity, aligning with international best practices and the UAE’s vision to be a disability-friendly nation. The long-term plan focuses on enhancing every stage of the passenger journey, ensuring that both DXB and DWC set new benchmarks in accessible travel.
According to Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, accessibility has become a key pillar of the airport’s mission. He noted that by working closely with partners and, for the first time, directly involving the People of Determination community, Dubai Airports is “transforming the entire airport journey and setting a new global standard for accessible travel.”
The next stage of the plan coincides with the launch of a new awareness campaign, “DXB for All”, co-created with People of Determination and supported by oneDXB partners. The campaign highlights real-life stories from travelers with different accessibility needs — from a child managing sensory sensitivities in a busy terminal to a deaf guest relying on sign language-trained employees and visually impaired travelers using tactile guidance paths. The initiative is supported by partners across the oneDXB ecosystem, including Emirates, flydubai, Dubai Police, GDIFA, Dubai Customs, dnata, Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Health, DCAS, and Dubai Taxi Company. Together, they aim to deliver a seamless and inclusive experience for every traveler.
With this renewed strategy, Dubai Airports is redefining global standards for inclusive air travel — ensuring that every traveler, regardless of ability, feels seen, supported, and welcome.
