Dubai Police, through the General Department of Airport Security, successfully returned lost items valued at Dh26 million to their rightful owners in 2024. This achievement reflects the department’s dedication to efficiency and security, utilizing an advanced lost-and-found system to handle reports seamlessly.
The Airport Security teams maintained direct communication with individuals reporting lost items, ensuring prompt retrieval and return of belongings. This initiative aligns with Dubai Police’s mission to foster a safe and secure environment for all.
Brigadier Hamoudah Al Suwaidi Al Ameri, Director of the General Department of Airport Security, emphasized Dubai’s commitment to safety, tolerance, and social responsibility. With Dubai International Airport handling over 92 million travel movements in 2024, cases of lost valuables are inevitable. However, the police’s proactive approach ensures that travellers’ belongings are recovered and returned, reinforcing trust and security.
Brigadier Al Ameri reiterated Dubai Police’s global reputation for excellence in traveller services. “Our lost and found system plays a vital role in reuniting people with their possessions, regardless of where they are in the world. We continuously strive to enhance our services to meet the needs of all airport users,” he stated.
