Dubai Trials Biometric ‘Red Carpet’ Fast-Track for Arrivals

Dubai has launched a trial of its new biometric ‘Red Carpet’ fast-track service for arriving passengers at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, marking the next stage of its airport-wide expansion. The initiative follows the successful rollout of the same technology earlier this year in the Business Class departures lounge.

Designed to deliver a seamless and faster arrival process, the Red Carpet system lets travellers complete entry formalities within seconds without stopping at passport control or presenting any physical documents. As passengers walk along the designated red carpet, advanced cameras scan their facial and biometric data, instantly verifying their identity against the GDRFA database using AI-powered systems.

To use the service, travellers must complete a simple one-time registration at the arrivals passport control area, where their passport information is securely linked to their facial and biometric profile. After registration, passengers can access smart gates and smart corridors on all future trips to Dubai, enabling a smooth, contactless arrival experience.
