Emirates is expanding its African network with additional flights set to launch in 2025, connecting Dubai to Ethiopia, Uganda, and South Africa.
Starting 1 January 2025, Emirates will offer daily flights to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Following this, on 1 March 2025, the airline will introduce a fourth daily service to Johannesburg, South Africa, adding a morning option for travelers flying to and from the country’s busiest airport. These added flights will restore Emirates’ South Africa operations to pre-pandemic levels, totaling 49 flights weekly.
Emirates recently increased its Uganda service from five flights a week to daily, reflecting the airline’s growing presence on the continent. This expansion follows an MoU signed with the Uganda Tourism Board at the 2024 Arabian Travel Market, aimed at promoting Uganda’s rich natural and cultural attractions.
With these additional routes, Emirates will operate a total of 161 weekly flights between Dubai and various African destinations, continuing the airline’s steady growth since its first African route in 1986.
