Dubai International Airport (DXB), known as the world’s busiest and most advanced airport, has introduced a revolutionary new passport control initiative aimed at transforming the travel experience.
As part of Dubai AI Week, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai has launched the ‘Unlimited Smart Travel’ service in the First and Business Class lounges at Terminal 3. This high-tech system allows passengers to pass through immigration in under 15 seconds without stopping or showing any documents.
Using advanced facial recognition and AI technology, the system enables up to 10 passengers to clear immigration simultaneously. The initiative builds on data and learnings from the smart tunnel, first introduced in 2020, to offer a seamless, paperless, and contact-free travel experience.
The GDRFA noted that this new approach increases passenger throughput, improves staff efficiency, and enhances the overall satisfaction of travelers. It represents a significant step toward smarter, faster, and more convenient air travel.
