Operations resume After Heavy Rainfall

Following the UAE’s heaviest rainfall in 75 years, causing disruptions in air and road traffic across the country, Dubai Airports has restored normal operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

CEO Paul Griffiths commended the efforts of airport staff, airline partners, and service providers in overcoming challenges. Despite 2,155 flight cancellations and 115 diversions, all guests at the airport, including those diverted to Dubai World Central (DWC), were able to resume their travel plans by April 19.

Over 75,000 food packs were distributed to guests, emphasizing the priority placed on guest welfare during the disruption. Griffiths expressed sympathy for affected communities and urged guests to arrive at the terminal only three hours before departure to avoid congestion as normal operations resume.
