Emirates’ sister airline, flydubai, and Sri Lanka’s national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, have announced a new interline agreement starting from September 9. This collaboration will provide more travel options on select routes between the UAE, Sri Lanka, and other destinations.
“This interline agreement will grant flydubai passengers access to 16 destinations on SriLankan’s network, covering Southern and East Asia, the Middle East, and Australia, including key cities like Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo,” flydubai stated.
The partnership will also enable SriLankan Airlines passengers to connect seamlessly via Dubai to over 30 destinations served by flydubai across Africa, Central Asia, Central and Southeast Europe, and the Middle East. Popular holiday spots such as Bucharest, Krakow, Mombasa, Naples, Tashkent, and Zanzibar are included.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said, “We are thrilled to enter into this interline agreement with SriLankan Airlines, which will strengthen trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka. Dubai remains a crucial aviation hub, and this partnership will open up new travel opportunities for our passengers.”
Richard Nuttall, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, added, “This partnership aligns with our strategy to expand our network, offering customers greater travel flexibility and choice.”
The new agreement allows for single-ticket itineraries, through-checked baggage, and coordinated flight schedules, enhancing passenger convenience.
flydubai, with a network of over 125 destinations across 55 countries, has opened more than 90 new routes and operates a fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft. The interline flights between flydubai and SriLankan Airlines are now available for booking through respective Airline websites.
