Visitors from most countries are allocated a 30-day visit visa on arrival to Dubai, which is free and stamped on your passport at immigration.  Since June 2018 transit flyers are exempt from all entry fees for the first two days (48 hours).The visa, which can be obtained at express counters across UAE airports, can be extended for up to four days for a minimal fee of Dh50.
 Only visitors with a confirmed onward journey or ticket and hotel reservations are eligible for a short-term transit visa.

Can I drink alcohol in Dubai?

Yes you can. Though Liquor licences are not available to non-residents,  it is possible for tourists and visitors to buy and drink alcohol in licensed venues, such as hotels, restaurants and clubs. In Dubai and all other emirates besides Sharjah, the drinking age is 21. Drinking alcohol in Sharjah is illegal. It is illegal to drink and drive in Dubai and all other Emirates and country follows a zero tolerance limit.
