Dubai-to-Sharjah ferry service launched

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a brand-new ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah, and it will only take around 35 minutes for passengers to travel between the emirates.

The new commute is between Al Ghubaiba Marine Station in Dubai and Aquarium Marine Station in Sharjah, and the ferry itself even has free Wi-Fi for all passengers – so you can keep your followers updated during the journey. It’s the first-ever marina transit service between Dubai and any other emirate, and it’s all to improve marine transportation services and make it easier for people to travel to and from Sharjah, according to the authority. Plus, it gives you a chance to go and explore all of the amazing things that Sharjah has to offer, like all of these museums. RTA has also stated that the ferry has the capacity to “serve 1.3 million riders per year”, with prices per trip coming in at Dhs15 for silver class and Dhs25 for gold class. The service is free for people of determination and children below the age of five.

As for timings, transit time between Al Ghubaiba and Aquarium stations will be about 35 minutes, operating every 30 minutes during morning peak hours (from 5 am to 9 am) and evening peak hours (from 4 pm to 8.30 pm) from Saturday to Sunday. As for off-peak hours, interval times will be 1.5 hours apart.

The first journey will depart from Dubai at 5.15am and the last journey will leave at 8pm. From Sharjah, the first journey will be at 5am and the final trip will depart at 7.30pm.
