The Dubai Mall’s KidZania has expanded its enormous range of educational activities for kids to now include a studio for striking a pose. And it’s probably going to be the only thing they want to do this summer. The edutainment brand has teamed up with UAE online shopping portal Namshi to launch a Fashion Studio Runway – a 20-minute experience that can accommodate up to eight rising stars and help them put together a fashion show, where they can demonstrate ‘their incredible style and unique personalities’. The studio says it aims to teach kids that fashion is a form of expression, while also giving them an insight into the fashion industry, and what goes into putting on a real fashion show.
Each experience begins with an introduction from a KidZania Zupervisor – in this instance, also a fashion designer – where they’re briefed on the activity, and invited to choose between the roles of stylist, photographer and model. Stylists get to choose the theme for the show and pick out outfits, the photographer photographs the models and tells them how to pose, while the models will show off their outfits with their own individual style.
Each fashion show takes place at the theatre, where parents and guardians can watch their performance while KidZania captures a video clip of each kid in action, which can be collected on the way out from the complex’s Media Shop.
